Police investigate suspected baby factories in Delta

Police detectives attached to the Delta State Police Command Asaba have begun investigation into two suspected babies’ factory homes within Agbor communities in Delta State.
In last few weeks, there has been reports clearly indicating illegal activities of some persons in the areas who allegedly operate babies’ factory homes where they sell young babies under the watchful eyes of unsuspecting Deltans, especially Agbor communities’ residents.
The suspected factory homes, it was reliably gathered, are within the Agbor – Obi and Alifikede forests and are protected by fierce local security agents who are said to be part of the illicit activities in the recent times.
Though no arrest has been made by the police, but insiders said that the suspected babies’ factory homes are known to many people in Agbor communities as they are allegedly owned by high powered Ika speaking personalities who” Powers” to violate the laws in the state including Abuja the seat of the nation.
Expectedly, the Delta State government had through the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr Peter Mrakpor while addressing Journalists last week, disclosed that the state government was determined to deal ruthlessly with human traffickers , especially those involved in babies” factory homes, adding that measures were put in place to ensure perpetrators are brought to book and children in the homes are recovered.
According to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice,” the state government will do everything possible to curb the menace and our taskforce where I am the Chairman is working very hard to ensure those involved are brought to book and ensure the children are recovered from the illegal homes”
But the Police Commissioner in the state, Adeleke Adeyinka who spoke to Journalists in Asaba, said investigation was ongoing, adding that the police were working very hard to uncover the factory homes within Agbor communities and assured Deltans of the police commitment to protect their lives and property of the people as warned that it will not be business as usual for all forms of criminalities in the state.
