The Jigawa state Police Command has confirmed that it confiscated some support and empowerment materials donated to some All Progressives Congress members by the Senator representing Jigawa Central, Senator Muhammad Sabo Nakudu.
The police boss made the confirmation while fielding questions from news men over the leadership crisis in Gwaram local government branch of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) allegedly created by a former national law maker from the area.
Mr. Bala Zama Senchi explained that, “as you all are aware that the senator distributed some items to his people in his constituency. So crisis erupted in Gwaram local government area as a result of misunderstanding of the political tussle over leadership factions in the area.”
He said, “our primary duty is to protect lives and properties of the people. Also to ensure peace and enforce law and order. Sensing that there is a problem(crisis) and that can cause breaks of law, we acted immediately and took the custody of the materials to prevent any possible breaking of law and order.”
“Our own is to protect lives and properties, ensure peace and enforce the law, as you can see all the materials are here, safely kept until the crisis is resolved and the right party executives come and take the items away,” Senchi explained.
Items given by the Senator to Gwaram and possibly confiscated by the police includes; a car, four motor cycles, 23 water pumps, 110 yards of Shadda, 11 women rappers, 30 hospital beds and N1,165,000 cash.
