Police caution parents on use of fireworks

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), in charge of Suleja, CSP Yakubu Isah has cautioned parents to warn their wards against the use of fireworks and knockouts in the area and environs during the festivities to usher in 2019.
Isah described the act as public disturbances and nuisance that should be avoided at this period of security challenges.
He stressed the need for parents to ensure the prevailing situation in the country and take measures to prevent their wards from carrying out acts capable of causing panic and confusion in the society.
According to him, criminals may take the advantage of the situation to perpetrate crime during the period.
The DPO therefore reminded residents that ban on the display of dangerous fireworks and knockouts is still enforce, just as he implored them to be contributing their quota to the fight against criminality.
Isah equally called on religious leaders in the area to work hand in hand with the police to ensure their places of worship are secured.
noting that his leadership has put on measures to protect lives and property as well as respond to promptly distress calls.
He however assured residents of the area that they would have a hitch free festivities devoid of harassment and intimidation from any quarters.
He added that residents are also encouraged to cultivate the habit of alerting security agents with useful information for necessary action.
