The Gombe state Police command has arrested 24 suspected miscreants in Gombe metropolis.
Parading the suspects before newsmen yesterday at the Police headquarters in Gombe, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Fwaje Atajiri told journalists the suspects were apprehended in different location in the metropolis.
He said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off when the Police gather reports from the public that the miscreants are found of
terrorizing citizens in the area, adding that the police swung into action and were able to recovered hard drugs from the suspects.
The Police spokesman, however, warned that the Command would not fold its arms and allow such thing to happen, noting that the Police will do its best to ensure that they crack down on hoodlums who perpetrate evil, in order to disrupt the peace of the citizenry.
He assured that the Police would continue to do its best to ensure that people in the area sleep with their two eyes closed, warning that those sponsoring hoodlums to perpetrate evil in the state if found wanting, will face the wrath of the law, even as he said the Police will not spare any one.
Meanwhile, the Command also paraded two suspects which they said were arrested in Gombe in a truck, with registration number CE 217 LSD, loaded with four drums of armoured cable belonging to Synergy Construction Company in Gombe.
The Police, who gave the names of the suspects as Silas James, said the suspect is the storekeeper of the company, while Monday Umar was the buyer of the items, adding that if the investigation is over, the suspects would be charged to court.
