The Plateau state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the result of the last local government election which the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The ruling PDP in the state, according to the results released by the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), won 14 out of 15 seats contested for.
Opposition APC in a press statement made available to newsmen yesterday in Jos and signed by the state Interim Chairman, Garba Yahuza Pankwal, said the election was full of manipulation.
The statement said there were no adequate electoral materials like ballot boxs, ballot papers and voters’ register which disenfranchised voters from exercising their constitutional right.
Part of the statement reads, “In many areas, electoral officials vanished into the thin air only to resurface at the Local government collation centers with results totally different from the ones at the polling units. There was also open use of money to buy votes at the polling units and winner was declared at the collection center, contrary to the provision of the law.
