The chairmanship candidates in the upcoming Local Government elections in Plateau State have reiterated that their top priorities, if elected into office comes 17 February this year, would mainly center around unity and security, emphasizing that unity and security were the cardinal points of developing meaningful society.
They said, without unity and adequate security, no developmental project could be attained.
The candidates made this known during a political debate organized by the Sagaciuos Production, held at Motor Park, Jos.
The debate which was organized for the candidates from Northern Zone of the state was initiated to enlighten the public and give opportunity to the electorates across the state to choose better candidates for themselves in their respective LGs that would provide quality representation when elected into office.
The organizer and leader of the group and political commentator in the state, Bello Lukman, in his submission during the event explained that, “The purpose of organizing the debate is to help electorates chose leaders that would positively impact on them when elected.”
He added that lack of quality leadership was often the main drawback of democracy; but that, via debate, people got to understand good leaders who could bring dividends of democracy to their people.
Peoples Daily observed that the debate has brought different people across the state together, irrespective of their background.
