The Plateau Elders Forum has asked Governor Simon Lalong to provide screening facilities and at least construct one isolation center in each of the senatorial districts in the state to adequately address any suspected case of novel coronavirus and curb further spread of the pandemic.
A statement personally signed by the convener of the Forum Ambassador Yahaya Kwande, and made available to journalists Wednesday in Jos equally lauded the Governor’s telecast on the safety measures against Covid-19 stating its relevance at this trying time that the virus led to high death rate worldwide.
The statement reads in part: “We are calling on the Plateau State Governor to kindly review public health policies by equipping all General hospitals and healthcare centers to a considerable need, nothing however, that all foreign medical trips be minimized to enable government focus on improving local infrastructures.”
The forum meanwhile, commended the governor for procuring screening gadgets and isolation centers in the state capital as precautionary measures toward curbing the outbreak and spread of the pandemic in Plateau.
