From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina
Wealthy individuals and organizations have been urged to assist Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, to make them feel a sense of belonging in the society.
Hajiya Jummai Garba, a Katsina based philanthropist made the call while presenting meat to some of the IDPs in Katsina.
“This call has become necessary for well-meaning individuals and firms to come to their aid as the state government alone cannot shoulder the entire responsibility.”
She said the gesture is to make them feel that, they still have people that are concerned about their plights.
While acknowledging the concern of the Governor Masari led administration to the IDPs, Hajiya Jummai Garba said this was her way of complimenting the state government efforts.
The beneficiaries include: IDPs residing in the state metropolis at the Ambassador quarters, Sabuwar Ungwa and Morawa areas amongst others.
The beneficiaries Balarabe Ibrahim, Safiya Kabir and Malam Abdullahi, in their separate remarks appreciated the philanthropist for her genuine concern to their plight.
