A retired Teacher, Dalhatu Shehu Abubakar, has called on Jigawa state government to assist him in recovering his about three hectors land taken over by Dutse development Authority without any compensation over the years.
Malam Dahiru made the called yesterday while speaking to news men in Dutse.
The pensioner expressed his dismay over non response from the state ministry of land over the petition he had written to the ministry through his solicitor for over one year.
He said, he made complained to the ministry during the immediate past state government and a file was opened for the case, after the commissioner of the ministry issued directives stopping any further development in the land untill the matter is settled.
Dahiru added that to he was surprised when he came back from five month travelling he found completed structures including filling station, schools and residential houses being erected in the land.
He said: “Since that time I have been following the case till date without any fruitful respond from the authority concern.”
He called on the state Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, to assist him to recover the land taken over from him without any compensation or cleare explanation about.
When contacted, the state commissioner Ministry of Land, Regional and Urburn planning, Muhammad Aminu AK, admitted the government was aware of the matter.
The Commissioner, who spoke through Permanent Secretary , Murtala Muhammad Kwalam , said the problems ought to be treated and settled by previous government but failed to do so.
The Commission added that, the case had been now reviewed by the present administration, and assured the complainant that, he would receive the compensation in the next four weeks.
