…Am yet to be served suspension letter

Former Commissioner for Information in Edo State and member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Kassim Afegbua has been suspended by the party for anti-party activities.
Afegbua, who is also the Media spokesperson to former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, rtd, was suspended yesterday for one month by the Edo State chapter of the PDP.
The State Chairman of the PDP, Hon Tony Aziegbemi has directed the local government chairman to set up a disciplinary committee to investigate the allegations of anti-party activities levied against him.
A press release by the State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Chris Osa Nehikhare confirmed the suspension of Afegbua.
The press statement reads, “This is to inform the members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, it’s supporters and the general public that Prince Kassim Afegbua of ward 5, Etsako East Local government area of Edo State has been Suspended for a period of one month with effect from August 2, 2020 by the ward executive after being found guilty of anti-party activities.
“The State Chairman, Hon Tony Aziegbemi has directed the local government chairman to set up a disciplinary committee to investigate the allegations of anti-party activities levied against him.
“The composition of the disciplinary committee will be announced in due course”, it said
When contacted on the development, Prince Afegbua said that he was yet to be served with any letter of suspension by the party.
He thus said that he would not want to join issues with “ the tax collectors’”.
