Former Bauchi South Senatorial aspirant, Barrister Muhammed Abubakar, was at the head of about 15,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who decamped from the party to the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC).
This is just as they lambasted Yuguda administration for non performance. Abubakar declared that he was forced to dump the PDP with his followers for injustice and absence of internal democracy.
He expressed the delight that APC remains a panacea to the present predicament of Nigerians. “ I have come to testify before you in my personal capacity as lawyer of over 35 years experience after exhaustive consultation at all levels, henceforth I have decided to dump the PDP and defected to the APC today” said Abubakar.
“With this political permutation, I have now joined the train of APC to nurture the party vibrantly ahead of 2015 and I am not coming to contest except if my people solicit for me to represent them in any political office” Abubakar added.
The defecting PDP big-wing lambasted Yuguda administration for failing to consolidate on the gains of democracy and charged him to emulate Gombe state governor for transforming the young state.
The defector lamented the high rate of poverty and unemployment among the youths and women even as he carpeted the Bauchi governor for not paying civil servants’ salaries. He urged the electorates to vote wisely come 2015.
He boasted that the APC as a formidable political party that will wrest power from the PDP come 2015 saying its manifesto has clearly started in line with the demands of Nigerians.
While accepting the PDP stalwarts, the Bauchi state APC chairman, Hon.Uba Ahmed Nana, expressed delight at the right decision taken by Abubakar for defecting to the party.
