PCNI donates drugs, consumables to Bauchi Govt

The Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiative (PCNI) has donated drugs and consumables to Primary Health Care Centre, PHCs, in Bauchi state.
A member PCNI committee, Engineer Mohammed Gambo Umar made this known while presenting the drugs and inspection of completed projects in Bauchi.
He said that the development was part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan on North East rehabilitation programme.
“We are witnessing another remarkable health care intervention on North East rehabilitation programme in Bauchi ,’’ he said.
Umar said that the drugs and consumables are meant for a 3 primary health cares in the three senatorial zones.
“The PHCs includes Kofar Fada PHC in Bauchi LGA, Dambam PHC in Dambam LGA and Mashema PHC, in Itas Gadau LGA.
He said PCNI collaborate with Bauchi government in provision of health care services in the state such as free medical outreach that included surgery eye surgery , paediatrics, gynaecology and Counselling across the state.
Receiving the equipment, Governor Mohammed Abubakar commended the Federal Government for the intervention saying the intervention was timely and would go a long way in adding value to the already lunch 5 point health Agenda tagged Lafiya Garkuwa.
He said the five point health agenda is lunch to provide effective healthcare delivery and to reduce maternal and child death in the state.
Abubakar assured that the drugs and consumables received from PCNI would be judiciously distributed across the PHCs for the benefit of the people.
The state Commissioner for Health Hajiya Zuwaira Ibrahim Hassan commended the initiative for donating drugs and the consumables to reduce health problems in the state.
She explained that the items donated such as anti-Malaria drugs, cottons, baby delivery kits among others that are commonly used in primary health cares.
