Panic grips Nwaoboshi’s supporters over serial court cases, Supreme Court Decision

Nosa Akenzua, Asaba

Palpable anxiety and fear of the unknown, have continued to grip the supporters of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi over serial court cases, including a pending Supreme Court decision
Nwaoboshi’s supporters across the Delta North Senatorial District on Wednesday evening in Asaba at what was said to be caucus meeting, allegedly regretted heap of blackmails and overwhelming evidence clandestinely supplied to various courts where their principal is currently facing trails, including the awaiting decision of the Supreme Court.
Although insiders said the meeting was divided as fifty percent of the attendance vowed to support Nwaoboshi with their last blood, but the surreptitious moves by disloyal People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) in the state, especially in Delta North to ensure Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is disgraced had been on the increase.
“We are afraid of some documents in possession of Prince Ned Nwoko over the Party primaries, and the situation is clear that some of the Part members want Senator Peter Nwaoboshi disgraced.
We fear that the Supreme Court Judgement might not be in the favour of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi following the documents in the possession of Prince Ned Nwoko that nobody has apart from the party Chieftains”, One Luke Okonji a strong supporter of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi said.
Chief Patrick Ukah the state Commissioner for Information who also is a strong Party Chieftain, however dismissed the fear of the unknown, saying that Senator Peter Nwaoboshi’s political track records speak volumes as no amount of blackmail and gang up will inhibit his victories in all the court cases.
Sources alleged that hatred for Senator Peter Nwaoboshi grows by the day, especially his allegedly abrasive political ways and vindictiveness including his shoddy performamces at the Delta North Senatorial District where he represents at the upper chambers.
Senator Peter Nwaoboshi while in Asaba last weekend, told Journalists that the Supreme Court would come in his favour, insisting that Prince Ned Nwoko was waiting his time and resources chasing shadows even on the face of some of the Party Chieftains allegedly feeding fat with his (Prince Ned Nwoko) money.
“Senator Peter Nwaoboshi is wicked and not willing to help anyone, look at how he abandoned Illah Ebu road because he claimed that the people did not vote for him, and that road is now a death trap and many other abandoned projects in his constituency and we tired of him”, a resident of Illah community who spoke to Journalists on condition of anonymity said.
However, a five man panel of Supreme Court Justices led by the Acting Chief Judge of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad had granted application for an accelerated hearing in a case filed by Prince Ned Nwoko of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP), against Senator Peter Nwaoboshi.
Nwoko is praying the apex Court to upturn the Court of Appeal Judgement which declared incumbent Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as duly elected Senator for the Delta North Senatorial District.
This is followed an application to that effect from Onyeka Nwokolo, Counsel to Prince Ned Nwoko.
The Court of Appeal Abuja had on May 30, 2019 declared Peter Nwaoboshi as winner of the PDP Delta North primaries held in October 2018 which necessitated the INEC to issue him a certificate of return.
But the Federal High Court in Abuja had earlier in March 2019 declared Prince Ned Nwoko as the authentic winner of the primaries, on the ground that PDP wrongly substituted Nwoko’s name with that of Nwaoboshi in the list of Candidates submitted to INEC.
