Mandate, Secretary of FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat (HHSS), Barrister Amanda Pam has assured candidates seeking for admission at the FCT School of Nursing, Gwagwalada that there would not be preferential treatment during the exercise.
Pam maintained that the FCT Administration will always ensure there is transparency in admitting students as well as running of the school activities.
She made this assertion when the Kogi state Governor’s wife, Hajia Rashidat Bello paid her an advocacy visit on girl child education at the Secretariat, recently.
Pam reiterated her leadership commitment to providing a fair playing ground for all candidates who have applied for the school and meet up with the desired requirements.
She however disclosed that more attention will be given to the catchment areas, Kogi, Niger and Nasarawa states.
According to her, the secretariat had secured approval of National Council of Nursing,NCN, to increase the admission from 50 to 100 candidates.
Earlier, the Kogi’s First Lady, Hajiya Rashidat Bello said she visited the FCT health mandate secretary to solicit for her help in area of giving more opportunities to indigents female candidates from the state.
Mrs Bello opined that she remains committed to empowering girl child in area of their education, especially the less privileged ones.
She therefore appealed to the FCT Administration to always evolve measures that will assist Kogi state boost its scheme for girl child education.
