The Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) has said it took the decision to o reduce the price of its presidential and governorship tickets to accommodate the poor Nigerians like President Muhammadu Buhari who are aspiring to leadership position.
The party also said it fixed October 2, 4 and 7 for its Governorship and state Houses of Assembly, National Assembly and Presidential primaries respectively across the country.
This is as the party at the end of its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting also agreed on the amount of money to charge for the forms for the various positions, including expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2019 General Elections.
The National Chairman of the party, Breakforth Onwubuya, who briefed newsmen at the end of the meeting said party leadership and members fixed the cheapest prices for the nomination forms to enable many Nigerians contest for electable positions, especially President Muhammadu Buhari, who complained of the exorbitant prices of forms and the youths who may not be wealthy.
According to him, the two forms of expression of interest and nomination for President is N5m, governorship N2.5m, Senate N1m, House of Representatives N500,000; state houses of assembly N250,000.
“The states executive of the party would determine how much to fix for the local government chairmen and councillor forms,” he said.
On his part, the chairman Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party, Prof. Leonard Kawas, urged Nigerians to join the party to change the fortune of the country for better, as the party is committed to freedom and Justice for the citizenry.
