From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina
The National Conscience Party, NCP, has vowed to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in all elective positions in next year’s general elections in Katsina State.
The National Chairman of the party, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, declared this in Katsina during party’s primaries to elect its flag bearers for various elective positions in the state.
Dr. Tanko, who was represented by the North-west zonal deputy chairman of the party, Alhaji Sanusi Bappa, described NCP as a credible alternative to the APC while appealing to Nigerians to give the party a chance in the twenty nineteen general elections.
However, the NCP adopted consensus to field fifty-six candidates that will bear the party’s flag in Katsina State in the twenty nineteen elections.
The party’s stakeholders unanimously adopted Alhaji AbdulMumini Shehu-Sani as the state NCP gubernatorial candidate while Alhaji Samaila Mamman, Alhaji Salisu Sani, and Alhaji Faruk Bello emerged as senatorial candidates for the three zones in the state.
The primary election was supervised by representatives of INEC, the Inter-party Advisory Council, IPAC, and some observer groups.
