The management of Air Peace yesterday explained that the landing incident of it flight P4 7191 at the international runway 18R of Murtala Muhammad Airport has nothing to do with the airworthiness of the airplane.
The airline told reporters that it preliminary in-house investigation into the incident involving the aircraft, a Boeing 737-300 commanded by Captain Simisola Ajibola indicates that in a bid to make a positive touchdown as required by procedures during such wet weather operations, the pilot landed the airplane harder than intended which affected the nose-wheel.
Air Peace Safety Manager, Captain Godfrey Ogbogu said: “There are no issues with the airworthiness of the aircraft as Air Peace Ltd assures of best maintenance practices at all times and spares no resources to that effect.”
