Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has flagged off a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Clinic for Viable Enterprises (MSME Clinic) in Bauchi.
Launching the programme, the vice president explained that federal government has introduced many intervention programmes to make the youths occupy in line with President Muhammadu Buhari campaign promises and some of the projects includes; N.power conditional cash transfer and market moni.
He said, “ under the programme, federal government will give loan to small traders without any interest attach to it. When you are able to pay back the money you would be eligible to collect higher amount and it would continue like that until when you feel your business is developed. The loan is open to all people doing petty business.”
Osinbajo said, for the first time we are spending 30% of the total budget on infrastructure, We are spending Nigerian money on right things that Nigerians demands. I pray that all of you will prosper and be greater that all of us in the nearest future.”
He said, from what I have seen, when we go round to some places. The projects in the places show that Bauchi has the best entrepreneur in Nigeria and Bauchi state governor is the best governor.”
He reaffirmed that, President Buhari would not steal Nigerians’ money as he made promises during his campaign in 2015, but he would ensure that he uses the resources to develop Nigeria.
Osinbajo, added that, “Nigerian resources would not be allowed for individuals or private pockets but it will be used for the betterment of lives of Nigerians through provision of employment, infrastructures and empowering youths and women.”
Bauchi state Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar said the clinic has provided great opportunity for youths in the state to be engaged.
He said his administration have provided thirty thousand youths with various skills acquisition aimed at taking them off the streets.
Abubakar told the vice president that, plans are underway by his administration to establish container depot to ease transportable for the local traders.
