The Director-General of the Delta State Orientation Bureau, Mr Eugene Uzum, has commended the Leadership/Members of the Anti- Cult Volunteer Corps (AVC) for their cooperation in order to eradicate cultism.
Uzum, a lawyer, said this during an interactive session with the Anti-cult group.
He explained that cultism is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the fabrics of the society.
He emphasized that the damage done by its members cannot be quantified in terms of untimely death of youths.
The Orientation DG said that the activities of AVC would help to promote the peace and security agenda of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, to build a stronger Delta.
He advised youths to be weary of friends who indulged themselves in drugs, smoking of Indian helm, rape, arm robbery, kidnapping and other social vices that is enemical to the growth of the society.
