Operation Amotekun: Nigeria don’t need regional security outfit DF Natforce

The Director General National Taskforce for the Prohibition of Ilegal Importation/Smuggling of Arms, Ammunition,Light Weapons,Chemical Weapons and Pibeline Vandalism(NAtForce)Chief Osita Okereke(OON) has advised the Federal government to as a matter of urgency disband the recently launched Western Security Network(WNSN) known as Operation Amotekun.
Speaking with some newsmen in Abuja yesterday, Chief Okereke explained that Operation Ametekun is ethnic security outfit which might be used by politicians against perceived opponents stressing that its establishment might be a threat to Nigeria’s cooperate existence as a sovereign state and entity.
Natforce DG further maintained that Operation Amotekun remains the zonal security outfit which might send a very wrong signal to the people and the international communities at large, owing to the fact that all regional security outfits in recent past, such as Ododua People Congress(OPC), Bakassi boys and so on ended up with outright disregard for human right and dignity.
Our source further lamented that if a zones are allow to create and fund security outfit like operation Amotekun, peoples live will be injoepady as non- indigent might be seen as threat, leading to victimization by the outfit.
He also advised the south west governors to join forces with the police and other legitimate agencies in order to carry out their assigned duties instead of forming a parallel security outfit.
He used the opportunity to emphasize the need for the immediate passage of his Bill currently before the two chambers of the National Assembly in order to arrest all insecurity problems in Nigeria.a
He said if all the South-West governors could contribute 40% of the fund meant for the Operation Amotekun on Natforce, the whole insecurity problems could disappear in the country adding that his organization is ready to train and incorporate indigents from all zones as well as employ 350 persons from each Local government Areas across the country.
