The newly elected executives of the National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA) have unveiled their plans for the organisation for the next few years.
Speaking at a media parley, weekend in Abuja, the National President of the Associations Comrade Fidelis Agunbuiade said he will re position the organisation in other to achieve the aims and objectives as stipulated in their constitution..
According to the President, they will focus on building and maintaining a cordial relationship with the National Open University by partnering with them in other to consistently add value to the degree qualification through capacity as good ambassador of their Alma Mater.
The Association passed a vote confidence on the Vice Chancellor of the school, Professor Adamu Abdalla, describing him as a man of great vision that brought transformation to the system. The body congratulate the former President of the federal republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as he bags PhD in Christian Theology from the institution which they describe as uncommon feet by the octogenarian..
“We appreciate the effort of National Assembly in Amending the relevant sections of the laws establishing NOUN to allow open University student to participate in National Youth service Corps (NYSC)” and call on the Federal Government to increase funding for the school which according to him has over 400,000 students in different study centers across the country and to establish more study centers in all Local Government Areas.
Meanwhile the Association promised to launch scholarship for best students in their different department
