Desire Oparanozie is in search of anew club after her six years stint with French club side Guingamp expired May.
The striker became a free agent after remaining league matches in the French league were cancelled in order to curb the widespread of the coronavirus pandemic which has ravaged most countries of the world.
The 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) winner and 2019 Women’s World Cup captain enjoyed good form for the club before the campaign was terminated.
The 26 year arrived the Guingamp from Turkish women’s top-flight side Ataşehir Belediyespor in 2014 and scored 45 goals in 106 matches for the club.
The former Nigeria junior international was named club captain at the beginning of the 2019–20 season and began her leadership reign well with a win over Metz on the opening day of the season.
Meanwhile, she’s yet to decide on her next destination, but reports claim she received an offer from other top teams in Europe.
The outspoken player controversially lost her place in the Super Eagles after falling out with some officials of the Nigeria Football Federation. The then captain and the senior members of the team had insisted that they would not leave the team’s hotel in France after the 2019 World Cup in protest to backlog of match allowances and bonuses.
She had also called for equal pay between the Super Eagles and Super Falcons players.
