Minister of Works, Arc. Mike Onolememen has commended the endorsement of incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term ambition by the governors of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the sole candidate of the party for the 2015 presidential elections.
Onolememen who gave the commendation when he received the executive members of PDP South-South zone led by their chairman, Chief Cairo Ojuigbo in his office yesterday in Abuja, assured of his commitment to fully support PDP to succeed in the Soutth-South zone.
“What the PDP did today is what is obtainable in most good democracies all over the world. A president should be given a first chance of refusal. We will stand with Mr. President through thick and thin and by the grace of God, victory will be ours”, he said.
While speaking earlier, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, South-South zone, commended the PDP for honouring the South-South by unanimously endorsing the candidature of President Jonathan as its sole candidate.
He congratulated the minister on his giant strides in the infrastructural development of the country, assuring him of the zone’s support towards his move to occupy the Government House in Benin-City, come 2015.
The South-South leader called on the minister to support the efforts of the party towards winning all the seats in the forth-coming House of Assembly elections.
