Courts activities across Edo State paralyzed on Tuesday following alleged withdrawal of service by the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Benin branch.
The directive was in line with the directive of the national body.
The boycott was closely monitored to ensure compliance, according to checks by Correspondents in Edo State.
The enforcement team at the High Court in Benin was led by the Branch Publicity Secretary-Douglas Ogbankwa.
Also, Mr. Dennis Osaretin Agho Esq., the Assistant Secretary of the Branch and a Member of the Compliance Committee ensured compliance of the Boycott at the Court of Appeal, Benin, Federal High Court Benin and the Oredo Area Customary Court, Benin City.
The situation was slightly different at the Magistrate Court, Sapele road and the Criminal High Court ,Aiguobasimwin Crescent, Government Reservation Area in Benin City litigants were spotted discussing in cluster.
It was gathered that the Judiciary Staff of the Edo State Judiciary were excited about the Boycott, expressing concern about the Impunity that precipitated this lawyers’ court boycott.
