The years long land dispute between communities of Egba and Eddo villages in Lapai local government of Niger state has surfaced recently claiming the live of the Imam of Eddo Mallam Haruna Ndanusa last Wednesday.
The land which was said to have belonged to the people of Egba was leased out decades ago to the Eddo who were at first paying annual land commission hence now claimed to be the owners of the land.
Investigation revealed that the original owner had urged the people of Eddo to stay clear from the land, but they insisted, hence the physical attack on each other leading to several injuries and one death was recorded in the process.
It was gathered that three people were shot with gun from Egba during the fracas and the use of cutlasses on Mallam Haruna who could not survived the injuries inflicted on him.
It was also reliably gahtheredthat the main origins of Egba Emitaci were not involved in the crisis but was between Egba Zupati, Tiffi, Akaba, Lotti and Gbaciba were the united front against the Eddo village that is smaller and with less population.
