From Osakhare Erese, Asaba

Delta State Commissioner for Works, James Augoye has said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa targets 5,000km road construction in eight years.
He described the feat already achieved by the present administration of Senator Okowa in road construction within the past three years of his administration with over 296 roads to his credit, as a tip of the iceberg in relation to the Governor’s eight year developmental target in that direction.
Addressing hundreds of youths under the aegis of a political pressure group; “Team Augoye For Okowa 2019” in Jeddo, Okpe Local Government area of the state, the Commissioner said that the eight year developmental plan of the present Governor of the state Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is to ensure the completion of no less than 5, 000 kilometers of road across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
While saying that the target would be achieved through the sustained support and prayers of Deltans for the present administration, the Works Commissioner enjoined Deltans, particularly the youths to ensure that they vote massively for Okowa in the forthcoming 2019 general elections in order for him to consolidate on the achievements recorded so far.
To achieve this, Augoye called on Deltans of voting age to ensure that they acquire their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVCs), secure it and ensure that they turn out enmasse during the next general elections to cast their votes, saying, “that way, you will determined who governs you as well as decide your future”.
He said, “to say the least, I am indeed overwhelmed with your show of love, appreciation and commendation for our dear Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the present government in the state.
“Obviously, I am not entirely surprised with your demonstration here today because, you are only responding to the love that this government has shown to achieve and construct 5, 000 kilometers of road across the state.
“At present, we have done over 296 roads of more than 964.8 kilometers. This is a target we have set for ourselves and we will achieve by the grace of God and with your collective prayers and support. “We do not construct road for political reasons, every road project we embark upon must have some social economic benefit to the people. So, with that drive on our minds, there is no doubt that we will assuredly deliver on our target.”
