The Oduduwa Youth Progressive Coalition in Abuja has carpeted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Presidential candidate, Pastor Yemi Osibanjo over statements credited to him on certain lapses of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s administration on corruption.
This was contained in a communique issued yesterday after an end of year stakeholders meeting of Oduduwa youth groups, in Abuja.
According to the communique signed by Oluwasanmi Solomon and Ademola Onabanjo, National President and Secretary respectively, the coalition lamented that some actors in the political setup are in the desperate mission to give the Yoruba nation a bad image before the entire populace and the urgent need to address such stakeholders has become very necessary.
In the two page document which frowned at statements credited to the APC Vice Presidential candidate in particular that President Jonathan is running a corrupt administration, the group said it was a misplacement for a servant on the pulpit to attempt to take the speck in his neighbour’s eyes when he has a whole log of wood preventing him from seeing his front.
The group insisted that it was wrong for Osibanjo as a true Yoruba man to claim not to understand the ugly image of the cabal that has produced him and their fraudulent records when it comes to financial misappropriation, recklessness and squandering of state resources in the first place.
The communique further reminded Pastor Osibanjo to remember the words of James 2:10 in the Bible which says we are all guilty of all if we live by the law and stumble on one after keeping all the commandments.
“It is in this line of thought that we find the very comments coming from Pastor Osibanjo who is a Christian and Pastor to be callous, out of place and deep representation of ignorance by a man who has failed to understand where he is coming from.
“We wish to act fast to remind Pastor Osibanjo that he is one of the end time prophets as revealed by the Christian holy book and should stop parading himself as an angel having participated in all the stealing, embezzlement and diversion of funds from the Lagos State treasury to the private accounts of those who milk us dry.
“It is expected of any well meaning Nigeria that intends to come to equity to do so with a clean hands and should henceforth desist from shallow minded utterances that portray the highly educationally sophisticated Yoruba race as half baked or even mischief makers that should not be taken seriously.
“The Yoruba race is strongly behind Mr. President and would not hide its open and secret love for his administration,” the statement also added.
