The Ochigbo of Igbo Community Association in Gwagwalada area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Eze Udo George Ibe Okeke, has lambastedthe Aguma of Gwagwalada (Second Class Chief), Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji as well as Gwagwalada Area Commander, following the locked-up of his gate
during the 9th anniversary of new yam festival celebration at the weekend in the area.
Okeke explained that when he was about to celebrate the new yam festival the Aguma of Gwagwalada was informed, but he wrote a petition against the Igbo community not to celebrate the festival based on the selfish reason best known to him.
He appealed to the Aguma not to play one side game as the father of all tribes in Gwagwalada area council, saying that every Igbo chief was not supposed to be crown by any tribal chief.
He said that his leadership was consulting with the Ohaneze Nd’igbo to find a lasting solution on the intimidation accorded to the Igbo Community Association by Aguma of Gwagwalada during the new yam celebration.
Also, he called on the Gwagwalada police unit Command to investigate any case being reported to the command before taking action, while urging the Nigerian police to always respect the rule of law in whatever they are doing.
Ochigbo of Gwagwalada urged the Igbo’s to continue to be calm, saying that everything will be done to address the said intimidation by the second class chief of Gwagwalada.
