The Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II, has assured of possible reinstatement of the deposed traditional ruler of Uromi in Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo state, HRH Anselm Aidonojie.
But, he cautioned him to shun acts that are untoward, and shun partisan politics.
He assured that he will intercede on his behalf to higher authorities for pardon.
Aidonojie, was deposed over alleged assault of one his female subject during the 2016 governorship election in Edo state, irking the former governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole to depose him.
Oba Ewuare spoke when the traditional rulers from Edo Central Senatorial district of the Edo state led by the first Vice Chairman of Edo state traditional rulers Council and the Onojie of Upoji, HRH Zaiki Ehidiamen visited him yesterday at his palace in Benin.
According to him, “I want to welcome you back to your father’s house for the simple reason that you all belong here.
“I want to assure you that I will do my best to rectify the problem Addressing the Oba of Benin, HRH Zaiki Ehidiamen, the Onojie of Upoji, commended the Oba of Benin for repairing the broken link between them and the Benin royal stool which he said has won trust and confidence of the people.
“The reason why we are here is that we a matter is tabled before you, it is done.
“You are the father of traditional institutions in the state… It extends beyond the Coast”, he said.
Also speaking, the deposed traditional ruler of Uromi, HRH Anselm Aidonojie, said: “your compassion shows truly that you are a father to the state.
“I want to assure you of our loyalty and support”, he said.
He appeared before the Oba of Benin in a white floated caftan, red cap and a pair of white shoes.
Peoples Daily reports that the protracted feud had heightened tension among the kinsmen of the embattled traditional ruler and concerned Citizens within and outside the Country.
