From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna

Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kaduna, Alhaji Dahunsi Mohammed has made a passionate appeal to Kaduna State government to erect and furnish additional blocks of hostel and staff quarters at state’s permanent orientation camp.
He made the call at the swearing ceremony of 2,237 2018 batch ‘A’ corps members held in kaduna yesterday.
According to him, projects would help the state to have more corps members deployed to it by the scheme, thereby having more essential staff like medical doctors in its workforce across the state to address inadequacy in its medical sector in the interest of the people of the state.
The Coordinator thanked the State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai for completion of the first phase of the renovation work at the camp which has made it more conducive for orientation course.
“We hope the second phase of the renovation work which is expected to take care of the parade ground, pavilion, existing male hostels and apartments for camp officials will commence as soon as possible.
“Additional hostel blocks will no doubt help us to receive the full complement of corps members expected to serve in the state”, he added.
Responding during an interview with newsmen shortly after declaring the orientation camp open, Governor El-Rufai promised to capture additional facilities in the third phase of camp’s renovation.
Represented by Commissioner, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture who doubled as Chairman, NYSC Governing Board in the State, Daniel Dan-Auta, the governor restated the commitment of his administration to strive to make NYSC function to capacity as a result of values it is adding to the economy of the state.
