The Nigeria Volleyball Federation, NVF, has expressed optimism that the national male beach team will secure Olympic ticket.
The federation stated this ahead of the African Beach Volleyball 2020 Tokyo Pre-Olympic qualification in Lome, Togo, where the male beach t eam is battle ready to qualify for the final round of the qualifiers.
The President of the Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod stated this while inspecting the team’s final preparations in Kaduna State Tuesday.
“As you are aware that team is battle ready to give Nigeria representation in the qualifiers in Togo, I am confident that the team would qualified for the next round”.
Engineer Nimrod however, expressed delight with the qualification of the female team to the final round of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic after victories in Ghana.
“I am happy to let you know that the female is a few matches to Tokyo Olympic after they emerged top in Ghana few days ago”.
He said despite the team’s third best ranking in Africa, it has live to expectation among African contemporaries.
The President has assured of the federation’s readiness to continue to provide all that the team’s players needed for more successes.
“As far as the federation is concern it has done it best, you have to understand that you cannot bounce on government for funds after we received notice from African Volleyball Continental body just about a month to the qualifiers”.
He commended the players and their officials for their sacrifices as the teams prepare as well as the show of understanding to the federation.
