The newly elected chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Comrade Audu Lucky Jen, has called on the security agencies operating along the road to maintain good relationships with the teachers and stop terrorizing them when going to their working places in the area.
He said if the teachers were delayed unnecessarily by the security operatives on the road when going to work, it would affect the education of the school children in all ramifications.
Lucky Jen, who made the call while speaking with newsmen after he was emerged as a winner during the 11th (7th) Quadrennial Delegates’ Conference which took place at the Government Secondary School Kuje multi-purpose hall.
Jen said his administration would give priority attention to the welfare of the teachers in order to put in their best.
He also said his leadership would remain committed to the promotion of education as well the teaching profession in Kuje Area Council.
He, therefore, pointed out that he would deem it necessary to liaise with authority concerned to tackle the problems facing the teachers in Kuje and its environs.
When asked whether there were quack teachers being employed in Kuje, Jen explained with optimism that there are no unqualified teachers recruited in Kuje public schools.
However, during the 11th (7th) Quadrennial Delegates’ Conference Comrade Nathan Magaji Shamaki emerged as the Secretary-General of Kuje NUT Branch.
