NURTW chairman urges FG to repair federal roads

The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Gwagwalada Branch 1 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Akawu Mohammed Liman, has called on the Federal Government to repair the federal roads across the country in order to reduce accidents on the roads.
Liman, who made the call in interview with Peoples Daily correspondent on the preparation of Eid-El-Fitri celebration in Gwagwalada on Saturday, urging the government of the day to expedite action on the provision of enough Patrol vehicles for the security operatives to combat criminals on the federal roads.
He advised the drivers against reckless driving during the festivities, especially those who are travelling far, and warned them against taking any toxic substance while plying the roads.
He further charged the drivers to always obey the traffic rules and regulations, warning them against dangerous overtaking.
He, however, appealed to the security agencies operating along the roads to avoid causing congestion on the roads, while pleading with the authorities of NURTW across the country to sensitise the union members for the sake of their safety at all times.
