Following the directive by the Federal Government to Security Agencies to relocate to the North East, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has set up a Special Squad for Bama, Christened the Special Bama Squad (SBS).
A statement issued yesterday in Abuja by the Corps spokes person, Emmanuel Okeh said the NSCDC helmsman made this disclosure while addressing the Corps Management team, Zonal Commanders and State Commandants.
Gana noted, that the Federal Government directed the Army, the Civil Defence and the Police to provide 1,500 personnel each from their respective organizations, which the NSCDC has complied fully with, and has also prepared logistics to cater for the Civil Defence personnel who will be stationed inside the Bama community to receive the Emir and other returnee from the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp. They are to provide also, adequate protection for the civil populace of the Bama community.
The Commandant General disclosed that, aside the 1,500 personnel already donated by the Corps, the NSCDC has set up a special squad known as the Special Bama Squad (SBS).
According to the Leader of the Civil Defence, ‘’The Special Bama Squad is an additional good number of personnel who will carry out round the clock patrol duties in all the nooks and crannies of the Bama community and its surburb. They have been mandated to synergise with other Security Agencies in the Bama axis.
The SBS will be given good and sound training at the NSCDC Training School to enable them carryout the mission accordingly’’.
