NSCDC assures of adequate protection of ranches

The Niger State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has assured of adequate remuneration for its personnel and will forestall the persistent clashes between the herdsmen and farmers by securing of ranches in the country.
The Federal Government programme of rangers is aimed at protecting and securing the ranches, animals, grazing reserves due to the economic diversification scheme from oil to agricultural and mining economy hence the need for community, local and foreign investors protection.
The Assistant Commandant General (ACG) Adamu S. Soja while launching the team of agro rangers in Minna at the weekend, said that the goal behind the setting up of agro rangers will be adhered to will vigor and encouraged every willing potential farmers in crops, animals, fishery to provide security on request but due process to be followed hence there is no financial implication.
He added that the Corps is partnering with the Nigeria Cattle Breeders Association but will not compromise to protect criminals, charging the general public to give information to security to build a more virile, peaceful and conducive society just as peaceful coexistence is not negotiable.
He explained that, the Corps have selected gallant officers as agro rangers who are assured of their financial benefits and other logistics to enhance their job satisfaction and called for synergy with relevant bodies to achieve crime free nation, noted that 2,500 officers trained for the program for a start in the country.
The Niger State Commandant Mr Philip Ayuba in his welcome address applauded the initiative of the Federal Government aimed at ensuring peaceful coexistence especially with the current decimal of herders clashes in most parts of the country.
