NRA vows to maintain integrity, fairness

Ahead of 2017/18 NPFL season, the Nigeria Referees Association, NRA, has vowed to maintain integrity and fair officiating as witnessed in the last season.
The NRA made the statement on Sunday as part of its resolution during their Annual General Meeting, AGM held over the weekend.
As part of roadmap for the upcoming season, the NRA commended the NFF and all stakeholders for their support in last season.
It further reiterated its resolve to improving the rating of referees at all levels to gain the confidence of other stakeholders in the football sector also granted approvals for the Commencement of the Insurance Scheme; the results of the 2017 NRA Promotional Examination as presented by the Grading and Assessment Committee and for the mode of dressing for referees during matches with a uniform for premier league referees, referee assessors and FIFA referees on international engagement.
“While applauding the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF and the various league organisers for their support and partnership, the referees were given a pass mark for a job well done in the concluded season. The Association will work at sustaining the progress made so far and improving rating of referees at all levels to gain the confidence of other stakeholders in the football sector
“For the purposes of society creations, applicants who have issues has been given Provincial Approval and a grace of one month for conditions to be met.
“Approval has been granted for the Commencement of the Insurance Scheme beginning with the coming Registration for the new season. The Insurance is for League Referees and Assessors.
“The AGM approved the results of the 2017 NRA Promotional Examination as presented by the Grading and Assessment Committee.
“Official approval was given for the mode of dressing for referees during matches with a uniform for premier league referees, referee assessors and FIFA referees on international engagement.
“A precautionary measure on publicity of Nigeria referees going out for domestic and international matches was adopted. For the sake of integrity and avoidance of influence of manipulators, details of movement of referees shall no longer be made public especially in the social media until after the matches.”
