Federal Commissioner of National Population Commission (NPC) from Katsina state, Engineer Almu Bala Banye, along with thousands of Peoples Democratic Party member from Charanchi local government area, have decamped to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
At a ceremony yesterday, Banye said he is decamping to APC together with former Charanchi Local Government Council Chairman, Abdulrazak Banye and former Councilors from 12 wards of the local government.
Banye said they resolved to join APC in view of the impressive performanceof administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
He said within the last 3 three years, the APC led administration at both federal and the state levels, addressed many problems such as Boko Haram and cattle rustling.
He added that within the period, President Muhammad Buhari’s administration has done well in the area of improving lives of Nigerian.
He said that those of them who defected are ready to work to ensure the success of APC during the 2019 general elections.
“We decamped to APC not to seek for any elective position, but we are impressed with performance of Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in many sectors of economy”, Banye added.
Receiving the new entrants into the party, the Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises, Dikko Umar Radda, commanded them for resolving to join APC and assured them of fair treatment like other members of the party.
Radda said the decamping of Engr Banye and other prominent politicians from Charanchi will add value for the success of the party during the 2019 election.
“We welcome you on board, let me ensure you that today you are equal with any card carrying member of APC”, he added.
He assured that APC governments at both federal and state level will continue to execute projects aimed at enhancing lives of Nigerians.
