Non-arrival of materials yesterday stalled the commencement of the nationwide membership registration by the Peoples’ Democratic Movement (PDM) in Adamawa.

Alhaji Yayaji Ibrahim, Chairman of the party in the state, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola.

“We had expected the materials to arrive on Saturday, but as I speak to you now, the materials are yet to arrive.

“As soon as the materials arrive, we will convene a meeting of stakeholders and take necessary steps to commence the exercise,’’ he said.

Ibrahim urged members of the party in the state to exercise patience, and assured that they would be captured in the one-week membership registration as soon as it commenced.

On his part, the PDM Chairman in Jigawa, Alhaji Sule Ranfake, said that necessary arrangement had been made to commence the exercise in the state.

He told NAN in Dutse on Monday that materials for the exercise had been provided, adding that the party’s executive had mobilised members to turn out en mass for the exercise.

He said that between 100 and 200 prospective members would be registered in each polling unit across the state.

Ranfake solicited the support and cooperation of the people to ensure smooth conduct of the exercise. (NAN)
