The wife of Kaduna state governor Hajiya Fatimah Muktar Ramalan Yero has said no society can afford to neglect of its women and youth because the cost of doing so will be too enormous for the society to bear.
She made the assertion in Kaduna yesterday, during the graduation ceremony of 50 women who were trained in different skills by her foundation.
The Kaduna state First Lady further disclosed that the women, who are seen as mothers and wives, have great influences on their husband and children and can go a long way in moulding them into profitable or destructive elements in the society.
“It no longer a secret that the insurgency in the country is still continuing because there are always youths that are ready to offer themselves as fighters and suicide bombers. Some of these youths would have been profitable to the society if they are adequately taken care of.
“ That is why our Foundation, ‘Soul Aid Foundation ‘ is focusing on youth and women development, in order to stop or at least reduce the restiveness among the youth and make the women better wives and mothers in the society “ she said
Speaking earlier, the Managing Director of Soul Aid Foundation, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed said fifty women have successfully completed their training in kitting, soap making and cream making.
“ We not only train them in skill acquisition, but the Foundation also support them with a start-up pack, to enable them to be self-employed and employers of labour”.
In his own remark, the sole administrator of Igabi local government area, Alhaji Isa Abubakar Mustapha said the choice of Rigasa as the pioneer place for the Soul Aid Foundation has shown that the area is not associated with violence but that good things can come out of the area if properly tapped.
