NLO Super 8 kicks off today in Katsina

The Nationwide League Division One, NLO, super 8 preseason football tournament will kick off today at Muhammad Dikko stadium Katsina State.
The NLO Super 8 is played between teams that emerged champions in their respective group play off leading to promotion to the Nigerian National League, NNL.
The preseason tourney is to determine the overall winner of the Nationwide League One champions for the 2017 season.
The 8 participating teams to slug it out include Aklosendi International Football Club, NAF FC of Abuja, Delta Stars FC of Ugheli, T. Atete FC also from Delta, Dynamite Force FC of Benin, Spartan FC of Agege Lagos, Gidano FC Kano, and Katsina Feeders, the hosts of the tournament.
In a chat with our correspondent, the Media Officer of NAF FC, Mr Niyi Busari, said the players are roaring to go and clinch and repeat the feat FRSC FC Abuja achieved last year by winning the trophy.
“We are focused and battle ready for the task ahead. We know it is a tall order but achievable. We are motivated by the fact that a team from Abuja, FRSC FC won the trophy last season. If they can, why not NAF FC of Abuja?”
“We are confident and optimistic that we are going to make Abuja residents proud by bringing the trophy to our fans back home,” he said.
On how the NAF FC lads were motivated for the battle ahead, Mr Busari said that they were mentally and physically balanced to achieve the target ahead adding that the Management of the club have motivated them financially.
“They are mentally and physically balanced and also focused on nothing but winning the trophy.
They have been financially motivated even before the game started. The welfare package for these boys is second to none.
They are good to go and in the right frame of mind
“The management of NAF FC commended the afforts of the organisers of the tournament noting that it will help prepare all the participating teams ahead of next season.
“They are in high spirits ahead of the tournament and are ready to go and claim the coveted trophy drawing confidence from last season’s champions FRSC FC who incidentally are based in Abuja,” Mr Busari stated.
The participating teams are champions in their respective group in NLO last season and they also won their playoff matches which promoted to NNL.
The winner will go home with a coveted trophy as the Champion of Champions.
