His Highness, Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Muhammadu Nuhu Sunusi has described the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) as one of the institutions that is ushering unity among Nigerians through their programmes.
The Emir made the remarks when members and participants of the NIPSS visited him in his palace in Dutse.
The emir, who was represented by his senior councillor, Alhaji Basiru Sunusi explained that, the coming together of the members and participants of NIPSS from various parts of the country with a common purpose is something that is giving hope for the future of this country.
“Your coming together from various parts of our fatherland and representing various organisations and places of your primary assignments gives us hope of continued brotherhood among the diverse cultural and religious and ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Alhaji Sunusi also charged the NIPSS to adopt consultative approach in data gathering and mapping-out policies that would improve labour productivity and public service delivery, which he described as critical sector for national development.
He explained that the emirate is optimistic that the studies and findings of NIPSS, especially on labour productivity would provide solution to the incessant strike by the labour unions.
Earlier speaking, Ambassador Adamu Abbas, a directing staff in the NIPSS and the leader of the delegation said they were in the state to interact with the authorities and study some of the state policies on civil service, to enable them formulate policy that could give a holistic approach in improving labor productivity and addressing any related problem.
Abbas told the emir that the theme of this year’s course is: “Industrial Revolution, Labour Productivity and National Development”.
