The Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), Nura Kangiwa said the institute will addressed the dearth skilled manpower in hospitality and tourism industry.
Kangiwa reiterated that under his watch as the institute DG, he will correct and resolve the dearth of skilled trained personnel in the Hospitality, Travel-Tourism industry in Nigeria so as to ensure that the country enjoy the socio-economic benefits of the sector.

He made the disclosed during the official handing over of facilities by the Benue State Government to the Federal Government for the North Central Zonal Campus of the Institute in Makurdi.
He said that with the acquisition of the magnificent facilities, NIHOTOUR is set to offer high quality training and certification of personnel in line with global best practices that command the confidence of consumers for high level patronage.
He explained that beside been the food basket of the country, Benue state is endowed with abundant tourism potentials, which, with available skilled manpower, can be adequately harnessed to generate revenue and provide job opportunities for the socio-economic benefits of the people of the state, noting that NIHOTOUR is ready to provide the skilled manpower requirement of the North Central Zone of the country to boost hospitality and travel-tourism business of the area.
Receiving the facilities, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed thanked the Benue State government for keeping to its promise to offer the facilities noting that this will go a long way in overcoming the dearth of skilled manpower and personnel in the industry in Benue state in particular and the North Central zone of the country in general.
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state who spoke through his Deputy Governor, Engr. Abounu, said the decision to make available the facilities for NIHOTOUR was informed by the desire of his administration to up its game in revenue generation from the non-oil sector which tourism readily provides as well as a platform for manpower development of youths in the state.
The North Central Zonal Campus is adequately equipped with Administrative, Hospitality and Tourism lecture rooms; Tourism studio; demonstration kitchen; Library, as well as facilities for conferences, seminars and workshops.
