Nigeria Institute of Hospitality and Tourism(NIHOTOUR), has graduated over 50 NVQ assessors and verifiers with certificates.
This was disclosed at the 3rd Annual Master Lectures Series for 2020,with the theme “Innovative in Hospitality and Tourism Connecting to Deliver memorable Experience Nigeria yesterday in Abuja .
Declaring the lecture open, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed said the lecture was apt and the assessments for assessors skill is very important saying tourism and hospitality industry is so dynamic and innovation is key for the development of the industry .
Mohammed who was represented by Mrs Patricia Narayi , AG Director Domestic Tourism of the federal ministry of information and culture said there was need to take advantage of the benefits of the positive developments in the hospitality and tourism iIndustry.
He said “Nigeria must consciously imbibe and apply sustainable technological innovations to remain in the market”.
Consequently,the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry DNCS Grace Gekpe in her goodwill message harped that ”we are in a time of unprecedented changes in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry, so the need to adapt and evolve to meet the ever changing need of their valued customers has become very necessary. “Innovation is all about staying relevant by implementation of things that are new to meet the trend, satisfaction and the need of the customers to be met”.
Earlier, the Director General Nation Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) Otunba Runsewe in his remarks stated that, “this is a wonderful capacity initiative, training the trainer by strategy and development of the industry within Africa and west Africa. This is recommendable.”
