President of the United Church Of Christ (HEKAN), Rev. Amos G. Kiri has said Nigeria’s security agencies are yet to be on top of their game, saying the loss of lives to Boko Haram and other criminal elements is worrisome, and is an indication that many things are wrong with the country’s security measures.
He expressed this in a message, made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
The cleric said he is saddened by the fact that innocent souls are being killed on daily basis either by Boko Haram, kidnappers, ritualists or armed robbers; in spite security measures put in place by the government.
“This simply points to the fact that many things are wrong with our security system. I therefore call on the government to improve our security networks for the safety of lives of properties of Nigerians.
“The trend where Nigerians are not safe on the roads, on the farms and their homes should be addressed without further delays. It is governments’ ultimate responsibility to protect the lives of its citizens,” he said.
