Chippa United striker, George Akpabio, has revealed that the reward from the club, as Player of the Season, will motivate him to serve the Premier Soccer League outfit diligently.
Club chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi, recently presented the brand new Kia Cerato to the striker for his efforts during the 2013/14 season when the club campaigned in the lower division. In addition, he received a cheque of R50,000.
Akpabio posted an impressive performance with 13 goals in the National First Division (NFD) which boosted Chippa’s return to the PSL. Supersport.com learnt that Akpabio’s goals, good conduct and his professionalism were considered when the club reached the decision to reward him with a car.
“I’m grateful to God and delighted to win the award because it’s special to me. I see this even as a challenge to do more for the club. “Moreover, it’s great to know that my efforts have been recognized at Chippa. I’m excited to pledge my future to Chippa United,” he said to supersport.com.
