Nigerian soccer prodigy joins Dutch powerhouse

Nigeria-born Barcelona striker Bobby Adekanye is set to sign a one-year deal with PSV Eindhoven of Holland. The Eredivisie powerhouse had held high-level talks with representatives of the Nigerian starlet, including his father, in the last few weeks, and the parties have now agreed to make the deal formal on Friday, November 21.

‘’Bobby will start this week with PSV Eindhoven. He’ll sign with them on Friday, and will play for their Under 16 and 17 teams. We need to wait and see how he’ll adapt to his new club. He doesn’t have any problem with any club in Holland,’’ Bobby’s father, Ademola Adekanye, told SL10.ng.

Earlier this year, FIFA sanctioned Barcelona for flouting rules in the signing of minors, including Bobby Adekanye.

Before his move to Barcelona, Adekanye had represented the youth teams of VV Alphia and Ajax Amsterdam FC of Holland.
