Nigerian telecommunication company, Globacom, has revealed that the music industry is raking in millions of naira from songs distributed by mobile operators in the country through their caller ring back tunes.
A Globacom management staff, Viswanath Nagasai who disclosed this while presenting some artists to newsmen said, Nigerian artistes are making waves via the CRBT Value Added Services. Adding that the new artistes on the national telecom carrier are cross-over highlife rave-of-the-moment, Flavour, and talented female artistes Omawumi and Chee.
Mr Nagasai also explained that the Hip Hop stars, Burna Boy, MI, Naeto C and one of the best known artistes from the North, Sanni Danja, Said that “Nigerians would readily recall that we blazed the CRBT trail in Nigeria over seven years ago when for the first time in Nigeria, we made it possible for our subscribers to download their favourite tunes and make them their ring back tunes. Others were to follow the trail, and today, he stated.
He emphasized that consistent with its pedigree of leadership in innovation, Globacom is yet again raising the bar by expanding the collection of songs available to customers on the CRBT platform.
“We are not just adding songs for its sake, but we are adding the latest from the best in the business all for the benefit of our esteemed customers. We are talking about new releases that music

Speaking at the ceremony, Naeto C said the capabilities of Glo’s CRBT are well above similar platforms by other operators.
He said it is especially impressive that subscribers can shuffle their song collections and choose anyone for their callers.
According to him, this and other innovations are the reasons Globacom is the leader in innovation in the sector. Another artiste, Omawumi commended Globacom for generating revenue for artistes. She described the launch of Glo Exclusive as laudable and heart-warming.
