Nigerian Football Supporters’ Club appoints Othman Bala as patron

The Nigerian Football Supporters’ Club, NFSC, has appointed Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Othman Bala Adam as its Patron.
The body’s Northern Coordinator, Mr. Joseph O. Akande(JP), accompanied by members of the Nasarawa State Chapter, conveyed the letter of notification to the Commissioner in his office.
According to Mr. Akande, “Last month, the national chairman of the Nigerian Supporters’ Club said he had heard a lot on the performance of the Commissioner of Youth and Sports in Nasarawa State, and in particular, he said that information got to him that the Commissioner came to office not too long ago but was able to clear some debts and successfully executed some projects.
“His application of dexterity at resuscitating Nasarawa United from the relegation zone at a point everyone had given up on the team is equally magical.
“With these and others too numerous to mention, the Nigerian Football Supporters’ Club deems it necessary to honour you as one of our Patrons, with the belief that you will extend your wealth of experience to us as well”, he stated.
Acknowledging the gesture, Hon. Othman Bala thanked the team for their visit and assured of his unalloyed commitment to their vision and mission.
“I am humbled by this gesture. I want to, without mincing words, say this is a collective responsibility and effort by my Ministry’s team who are willing and eager to promote sports and take it to the next level in Nasarawa State.
“The mandate of the Executive Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, is to exceed all expectations in sporting activities in Nasarawa State, and fortunately for me, I met on ground, men who have requisite wherewithal to carry out the mandate given by His Excellency as they are highly cooperative, responsive, and with awesome competencies and capacities to deliver over time.
“I promise to partner with you so that we could move sports to the level of revenue generation and job creation for our teeming youth across the length and breadth of Nasarawa State and beyond
“With this honour of being part of the Supporters’ Club, you have further awakened my consciousness that whatever we do, like you said, will be watched somewhere and we will do our best within the available resources to ensure that we excel, in spite of all shortcomings, to get to the promised land in sports development, both in Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large”, the Commissioner assured.
Also in attendance during the presentation of the letter were the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Alh. Aliyu Abdullahi Agwai, and Directors.
The inauguration of the Commissioner as Patron of the Nigerian Football Supporters’ Club comes up on Saturday (next week),14th of March, 2020, in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
