The Niger State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has received a letter of intent from one of its governorship aspirant, Alhaji Aminu Mohammed Baka, who assured that he will transform the face of infrastructural development of the state.
Baka gave the assurance in an interview yesterday in Minna at the party secretariat after presenting his letter of intent to contest for the governorship position on the PDP platform in 2019.
He lamented that Niger state has suffered setback in terms of development in the country due to bad leadership hence the need to come to rescue and reposition the state to enviable heights.
The aspirant further said that election is determined by the capacity of the masses reiterated that he is confident of winning the 2019 gubernatorial election in Niger state.
He decried that all the 25 local government roads are in deplorable stage and backward state “the All Progressive Congress APC government is not doing well in the state that is why I have to offer myself to save the situation by getting the people out of poverty, unemployment, youth empowerment and enabling business environment” he said.
Baka who is from Zone A senatorial district of the state said that zoning is unconstitutional as confirmed by the state party chairman Barrister Tanko Beji.
According to him, “power belongs to God Almighty and He gives to who he wanted at any moment, am out with my strength, resources and with unity and support of Nigerlites I am confident to win 2019 election” he stated.
He added that he was in the party secretariat to identify with the PDP to indicate his interest and seeking the party support and prayers after appreciating the party for the privileged and honour given to him.
In his remarks, the State Party Chairman, Barrister Tanko Beji, after he received the letter of intent reiterated that PDP is an opposition in the state and at national level hence cannot afford to allowed impunity.
Beji stated that mistakes were made in the past which has been realized and must be amended and opened up to regain its lost glory just as the party will allow level playing ground for primaries through free, fair and transparent electioneering campaign.
He urged the party members to be united so as to put strategies together for the success of the party at polls hence everything humanly possible will be done for their success at the elections come 2019.
Beji restated that zoning arrangement of the PDP is sacrosanct although unconstitutional to the party and Nigerian Constitution which supersede party local arrangement, reassuring party members that nobody will be excluded from testing his or her popularity.
