The Niger State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Mahmud Abdulraman Enagi has resigned and obtained the nomination form to contest for the Niger south Senatorial primaries for 2015.
Alhaji Enagi who resigned on Monday, obtained the expression of interest form with serial number 0000029 and nomination form with serial number 0000783 yesterday to contest for the exalted position the incumbent senator, Zainab Abdullahi Kure who also picked the form last week to contest for the third term.
Addressing the crowd of party supporters who followed him to pick the form at the party’s secretariat in Minna, Enagi urged his supporters to conduct themselves in the most peaceful manner, adding that his was for “peace, success and victory”, assuring them of better representation because he has been with them and aware of all their predicaments.
He said “if you are truly my supporter try as much as possible to shun violence, don’t be provoked and don’t provoke anybody to violence because if you are violent you are not my supporter”.
He explained that the three federal constituencies in the Niger south only Mokwa, Lavun and Edati has not produced a Senator since 1999 and the party decided to zone the position to the constituency in 2015.
Earlier in his address the Vice Chairman, Niger south PDP, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mohammed Agaie said that they have not followed any aspirants to collect nomination form from the zone but because the former chairman has led the party well in the last 7 years in the state, the executives of the party from Niger south decided to support their own to contest.
Hajiya Kaka Wabi who is a Senior Special Adviser to Governor Aliyu applauded the contribution of Enagi to the PDP assuring that women from the zone will give him maximum support in order to come out victorious in the election.
Also speaking the youth leader from the zone, Isah Lagbene warned the youths not to throw away their future by selling their votes to buyers advising them to vote for people who will be there for them.
